Admissions
The present policy is for all children to have the opportunity to start school in the September following their fourth birthday to enable three full years to be spent in the infant department. Priority is given to children with older brothers or sisters already in school. The remaining places are allocated to children living in the villages of Uffington and Tallington and beyond. The school currently has children who live in Stamford, the Deepings, Bourne and local villages.
The school's Published Admissions Number is fifteen places in any one year group. We are not allowed, by law, to have classes of more than thirty children in an infant class. We follow the Lincolnshire County Council's Admissions Policy for Primary Schools which can be found on the school admissions website (see below).
All applications for school places are completed on-line via Lincolnshire County Council's School Admissions website:
Applications for places in the Reception class can be made from November. Places are offered on 16th April. (The admissions policy is attached below).
There are opportunities for new entrants to visit the school in the term prior to admission and home visits are also made. This helps the children to get to know the school, their classroom and their new teacher as well as to meet the other children.
MID-TERM ADMISSIONS
Applications for entrance into other year groups can be made at any time. We do advise contacting the school prior to making an application to check that there are places in the appropriate year groups.
APPEALS FOR ADMISSION
Parents and carers have the right to appeal for a school place where an application has been unsuccessful. Appeals are heard by an independent panel. Further details are available on the school admissions website.
