An Uffington Christmas
As always, Christmas has been a special time in school...
Celebrations began with our customary art day resulting in work from each class being displayed throughout the school. Children from the Foundation Stage and KS1 greatly enjoyed their visit to Tallington Christmas Tree Farm and chose the beautiful tree which is adding a festive touch to the office entrance. With the help of Fr Aran, and Liz and Les of Uffington Church, everyone enjoyed making their Christingles and taking part in the service in church.
The Nativity staged in church was a delight to all who came to see it; congratulations to all the children and staff who worked so hard to stage this production.
Last week, the children enjoyed a visit to the pantomime and then ended the week with the Winter Wonderland fun run: the children had a great time running with their friends around the field in their Christmas jumpers and Santa hats—Congratulations to this year’s champions—George Williams (KS2) and Martha Saralis (KS1). The run certainly worked up an appetite and it was great to see so many children enjoying this year’s Christmas lunch.
As I write, there are just two events left to enjoy: the Carol Concert on Wednesday evening and Carols around the Tree in church at 2:30pm on Thursday—a fitting end, we hope, to a busy term—and an equally fitting beginning to the Christmas celebrations with our families.
